Louise Perrett worked for some months in the Cardiff office of the UKBA, and her experiences suggest that those most vulnerable in our society are treated appallingly when they seek sanctuary. Bethan Jenkins, the Chair of the CPGHR has written here about what we heard. The members of the CPGHR agreed immediately to seek assurances on this matter, and we have written to the Home Secretary and the Secretary of State for Wales, as well as the Equality and Human Rights Commission and the relevant scrutiny committees at the National Assembly for Wales. We include the letters in the sidebar and will update with any response.
